About Cantantes
Hello! I’m Carla Fittipaldi, the creator of Cantantes — a name inspired by the Portuguese word for “those who sing,” a tribute to the birds that fill our world with color, sound, and song.
I live in Atibaia, in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. After a 40-year career as an Information Technology engineer, I decided to dedicate my time to what has always inspired me: nature, art, and birds. Throughout my life, I explored different artistic mediums as a hobby — photography, graphite drawing, watercolor, embroidery, and needle felting. Whatever the medium, birds have always held a special place in my work.
Over time, I transformed my garden into a welcoming space for birds, planting flowers and native species and setting up feeders. I began observing, photographing, and recording their songs while learning to recognize different species, their habits, and the little details that make each of these visitors unique. This daily connection deepened my sense of wonder and made me appreciate even more the beauty of the life unfolding so close to us.
It was from this passion that Cantantes was born, along with the desire to share this way of seeing the natural world through art. Each illustration is created from my photographs and drawings, capturing not only the beauty of each bird, but also the sense of connection and wonder they inspire.
Thank you for being here, for discovering my work, and for becoming part of this story.
Discover. Admire. Protect.
A love letter to Nature.
